The MacGillivray Freeman Films Educational Foundation (MFF-ED) is a not-for-profit 501(c) (3) organization established to fund and produce educational giant screen films (more commonly known as IMAX® theatre films) and companion educational programming focusing on science, the environment, world culture and natural heritage locations.

Due to its ties with industry pioneers—including the world’s largest independent producer of giant screen cinema, MacGillivray Freeman Films—MFF-ED is the only foundation in the world with the immediate capacity to deliver visceral, immersive learning experiences via the powerful giant screen film medium.

These students had a great time watching our latest 3D film, Grand Canyon Adventure. Yet, MacGillivray Freeman Films Educational Foundation is about more than making films. We’re about learning, teaching, contributing — and making the world a better place. That sounds like a lot, but we’ve found that taking a large-format camera into places most people cannot go paves the way for experiences and knowledge that we otherwise would not have. Now you can do more than watch—you can bring our educational programs into your schools and other institutions, or even join us in the adventure.

In 2009, more than 90% of our expenses were devoted to our programs.
